Life of Pi Author Yann Martel Strips for Books

Author of Life of Pi, Yann Martel, will be stripping down for a 2014 calendar for the organization Bare It For Books. Bare It For Books donates all proceeds to the Canadian charity PEN Canada, which promotes Freedom of Expression around the globe.

The organization started after several tweets on twitter that inspired Amanda Leduc, a novelist, and Allegra Young, a manager at Centrediscs, a Canadian classical music label, to reach out to their favorite Canadian authors, asking if they’d pose for the camera. The authors are tactfully covered by books, not that we’d mind if Martel bared it all. The author will be posing as Mr. December.

The 2014 calendar will be available in October 2013 on the organization’s website and select bookstores.
