Wag’s Revue: Summer Literary Contest

Submissions to Wag’s Revue’s Summer Writers Contest are still being accepted; the deadline for the contest is August 31st. The online-only literary quarterly was founded in 2009 and contains poetry, essays, fiction, and interviews, like this one with Comedy Central’s Steven Colbert.

By being online-only, the quarterly is making a statement:

We at Wag’s Revue are intent on revolutionizing online literature. We wish to create something entirely of the Internet, never printed and never meant to be printed, but with all the editorial and aesthetic controls that entice people to read and trust the finest printed media.

The contest is judged by the editor and includes cash prizes for the winner, which, let’s face it, is always a good incentive to start writing. First prize is $1000, second prize is $500, and third prize is $100. Although all submissions are considered for publication, only the first prize winner is guaranteed publication.
